Rochelle Thomas: Artist, Painter

I picked up a paint brush for the first time 2 years ago and painted my 1st picture. It turned out not too bad!! I continued to paint more pictures because I enjoyed it so much. I got my kids and friends to choose things for me to paint and practised until one day I got my first sale!!! That was exciting and now I paint commisions and sell my paintings via Tarragon Cafe, Carterton.

I have experimented with oils, pastels and water colour as well as acrylic. Acrylic is my favourite medium and is what I tend to use most.

I am very versatile in my painting styles so I am able to give anything a go! If there is something in particular you would like, feel free to email or ring and I will be more than happy to discuss your ideas with you.

I am a single mother to three wonderful children, 2 boys and a girl, all whom think its amazing that their mother had discovered this creative side and are always putting their own orders in for a new piece of art for their bedrooms!

I have decided to study to become a Secondary School Art Teacher, and pursue a career doing something I love and enjoy. I wish I had discovered years ago this hidden talent I have, I am so glad I figured it out now rather than later, while I am still young enough to do something with it!
